Networks
AfricaAdapt is an independent bilingual network focused on Africa and primarily led by African organisations. The Network facilitates the flow of climate change adaptation knowledge for sustainable livelihoods between researchers, policy makers, civil society organisations and communities who are vulnerable to climate variability and change across the continent.
The BASIC Project undertakes research and developing capacity on low carbon development pathways, adaptation and climate governance.
The LCA Network is a global community of over 1,000 adaptation researchers, practitioners and policymakers, which enables geographically dispersed communities to share knowledge and experiences of adaptation to climate change. Details of how to join are provided on the LCA dossier, an online resource which synthesises current thinking on climate adaptation issues with and provides access to relevant and up to date resources and publications.
CBA-X supports the exchange of information and experiences on community based adaptation to climate change, including case studies and tools. Initiated by the International Institute for Environment and Development, CBA-X is hosted by IDS.
Through a series of face to face meetings, the SPIDER Network convenes academics and NGOs to re-evaluate the role of science for disaster risk reduction.
The ESRC funded Poverty and Adaptation Seminar Network is bringing together researchers, policymakers and practitioners to explore poverty and climate adaptation linkages and to develop a theoretical and implementing framework for pro-poor adaptation.
Gender CC is a web based platform for information, knowledge, and networking on gender and climate change - a response to the growing public attention to climate change, and the increasing need for information about women’s perspectives and gender aspects in climate change policies and measures.
