Vulnerability and Poverty Reduction Team Understanding and tackling the causes of Poverty and Vulnerability
Climate Change and Development Centre (CCDC)
Pioneering research and knowledge partnerships for development in a changing climate
We are a growing group working on climate change and development. We collaborate with other research, knowledge management and communication experts across IDS, the University of Sussex and a strong network of partners in developing countries through the Climate Change and Development Centre (CCDC).
We promote collaborative research and policy analysis, delivering high quality research programmes, knowledge services, teaching and training.
Our aim is to shift thinking, policy and practice towards multi-dimensional perspectives on vulnerability and poverty.
CCDC has three core research streams although much of the work is cross-cutting:
- Poverty and Adaptation -Towards a pro-poor adaptation agenda that contributes to eradicating poverty
- Climate Change Policy - Developing shared visions and global capacity for an equitable climate change regime
- Low Carbon Development -Improving our understanding on how countries can achieve sustainable economic growth
Building networks, sharing knowledge
We foster networks and initiatives that build and bridge communities of practice
Teaching, training and mentoring
Preparing development professionals to address climate change challenges
