Hyejin has recently completed a MSc in Climate Change, Development and Policy with Distinction at the Institute of Development Studies (IDS). Her dissertation focused on examining the inclusiveness of governance of climate finance for more equitable fund allocation with a case study of the Green Climate Fund in Malawi. Through qualitative interviews with international as well as national stakeholders, the research brought in her insights gained from her work experience in Malawi.

Hyejin is interested in contributing to fostering climate actions in developing countries that are particularly vulnerable to climate change. She has experience in managing donor-funded projects to support climate resilient development in both African and Pacific context. Currently, she looks after projects in the Pacific region, including establishing governance for achieving climate resilient development of the Small Island Developing States.

Prior to pursuing a master’s degree at IDS, Hyejin worked for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Malawi and Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Fiji. Hyejin holds a B.A in Political Science and International Relations and a B.A. in Chinese Language and Literature from Seoul National University, South Korea.
